Captain,

The reason I am NOT buying Vivus at these levels is because I am flat broke. I own more shares than I care to admit and need an 11 point run up just to break even. I am frustrated, pissed, burnt out etc..but I still feel that at $2.00/share this stock is a sick joke.

In your last post you mentioned the CFO but I think you meant the CEO(ie Wilson) since he was the only one answering questions.

My attitude is that the market makers can drop the price to 2 cents a share--I really don't give a shit. The idea now IMO is for the market makers to break the stock down as low as possible(they would just love to take it under 2 if they can) so that they can cover the millions of shares they shorted and still have not covered. It will be much easier to cover starting below 2 than above 3. The psychology here IMO is very interesting. I bet that if Vivus had less than a million shares held short then the stock would currently be above $6.00 a share. The shorts have had complete control of things since the December 10 crash except for a few brief run ups. I see no reason why they would drop the ball now when they still have 6.3 million shares that need covering.

I also wish that Vivus could be buying up as many shares as possible at these levels without any public announcement. They can take out $2M shares for each EU milestone country that grants approval. That's $8M shares or almost 1/3 of the 29.3M float that can be taken out. Can Vivus afford to do this based on the other $24M cash they are sitting on based on potential revenues in the second 1/2 of 1999? I don't know but if they can afford to buy back shares at this level without making an announcement, then they BETTER do so. All IMHO.
