Isn't it already: ATHM is buying XCIT for $6 billions and getting a gift from ATT, their WORLDNET plus IBM net for some of ATHM shares. Trey just compare ATHM graph with WSTL for the last 2 years and you will see the answer to your question.

Despite my procable long term view, I do not dismiss ADSL as an alternative. It should have a life span of at least 5 to 10 years. Will WSTL benefit from it is completely another issue. I believe this is the company with good connections (LU, BEL, TI, ALA) and the maximum ADSL experience in the industry. The selection of ALA by RBOCs already did cost them the loss of 500,000 subscribers, because they dismissed CAP and were waiting for DMT.
