Got a junk mailing from Select Information Exchange, SIE, an investing newsletter promo service, this particular package re: options newsletter packages. On the envelope, and a couple places in the literature was prominently displayed Ampex options that have performed very well last year. So Ampex options must have been recommended buy from at least one of the 5 option newsletters recommended inside. Just a little more clue that knowledge of AXC is getting slowly disseminated in the investing world.
When you look at my projections for AXC eps, with total profit approaching $500Million in 5 years with 90-100% market penetration at $1 platter, this puts AXC in the top tier of earnings power of all companies worldwide! Very few companies in the world earn over $500M. Cisco didn't earn that till fiscal year 95, and by that time it was one of the biggest capitalization companies in the world. So good to see institutional ownership below 20% last time someone posted, it leaves lots of upside to the stock.

When you buy AXC now, all you're paying for is a cheap price for its existing businesses! You're getting the Mitsubishi lawsuit for free, the KM for free, and all of their research possibilities for free. Me wonders just how big a market flexible magnetic media addresses. I presume this means its theoretically possible to coat ALL MAGNETIC TAPE with KM! Assume that must mean at least a few hundreds of millions possible in future licensing revenues some years out.

Nice to see Western Digital had their own presentation of a white paper on "The Magnetic Recording Performance of KM" at the MMM 96 conference Gus alluded to some posts back.
Also, Velocidata (see post 319 for an excellent recommendation of the benefits of KM by new disk drive components industry start up Velocidata) presented a paper on "The 4 discrete magnetic states of KM". Also, HMT tech, the media platter maker, participated on a paper along with Maxtor and Ampex, including our very own hero, Gooch! Have to give Gooch a medal, or at least lots of stock options!

makes me wonder if Western Digital won't be the next licensee. I believe the next signing, whenever it is, will set off a pronounced upward move in AXC, since it'll be done at lots more profitable rate, and odds are it'll be one of the big 4, IBM, Quantum, Seagate and WD. BTW, just to let you know how BIG $500M in profits are, not even Western Digital comes close to that, and Seagate did just under that in profits last year. We've got a lot of profits to look forward to!
