Since we are talking a lot about IBM here lately, I thought I would mention that in Lou Gerstner's world-wide speech to the troops he mentioned how people have said IBM's stock has had a great year with a 90% growth (I think that was the number). But he said that as good as IBM stock was look at some of the other players in the industry. He then Quoted MSFT, INTC and a few others and the %ages they gained. Then near the end he said (not verbatim quoted but close) "How about 147% - 147% - that is what Novell realized - Novell for heavens sake!".

PS - I will say my point again on the IBM/NOVL merger talks here - I dont think it is gonna happen folks. Even though I can see so much synergy between these two companies. They have soo much to offer each other. But NOVL doesnt want to be bought and some public signs from IBM give me the feeling that IBM doesnt have it seriously in their scope either.

Anyways, those are just some of my opinions - for whatever they're worth.
