A mine and mill complex costs a minimum of $500,000,000 ($500 mil) to build, that mine to be economic must contain a minimum of $2,500,000,000 worth of rock ($2.5 billion) these costs do not change and are not variable by much except latitude.
To mine a dyke the cost is increased ten fold, they would need to raise $5,000,000,000 ($5 billion). To justify this development they would need $20,000,000,000 worth of product in the 10,000,000 tonne of reported kimberlite.
Each tonne of kimberlite must be worth $2000.00 to justify such a development.
