From a performance standpoint, both the M2 and the K6 will be limited by socket 7. The one that supports the fastest bus will ultimately deliver the most performance. Thus if AMD supports only the 66 MHz bus and speeds of 166, 200, and 233 then Cyrix will outperform them with the 75 MHz bus at 187.5 and 225 MHz. If one or the other can get the 83 MHz bus to work at 166 MHz and 207.5 MHz, they will have the advantage. A 100 MHz bus at 2x100 won't help much though, but 2.5x100 will be the speed to beat. If both companies support the same bus speeds, then performance will be within 5%.

That said, from an investment standpoint a different question is if the performance is similar, can AMD outsell Cyrix by 7 to 1? AMD has 7 times as many shares outstanding.
