Jesus builds the New Temple of the Lord, the Body of Believers,the Church.. (Zech 6:13, Mt 16:18).
Hi Chris. I pray that the Holy Spirit dwells within you and your family and fills you continuously with the joy, peace and love.
It seems clear from the following verses that the New Temple of God spoken of in the Prophets was the Body of Christ--the new abode of the Shekinah Glory.
Prophecy concerning the Messiah Jesus building the the New Temple
Zech. 6
12: And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the LORD:
13: Even he shall build the temple of the LORD; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between
them both.
Jesus fulfills the prophecy and builds the New Temple of the Holy Spirit, the Church.
Matt. 16
15: He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
16: And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
17: And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
18: And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
19: And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
20: Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ. |
