Re: 4346

I can't believe we are all us at 6 am doing a self-critique of this thread. I just schuffled my son off skiing, what is everyone else's excuse?

Re: topic at hand. I don't think that any of the regulars here are trying to take advantage of the readers. I think each and everyone of us has our own style. Some can work the market faster than others. Some have a lot more experience than others. I may be naive, but that's what I think.

I have made a lot of mistakes in my years of investing. These have lead me to certain conclusions and insights, which I have listed. I truly hope these benefit those who are just beginning to invest/trade.
Sometimes, however, you will find that my insights, altho they may work in general, might be exactly the wrong thing to do in a certain situation.

Picking stocks and timing the market are really difficult things to do. It takes judgment, and developing judgment takes time. I list stocks and I can probably be accused of hyping stocks, but I do my homework, and if I get overly enthusiastic, it is because I have uncovered facts (all public info) that lead me to be enthusiastic. I am not going to hit on every stock. That is an unrealistic expectation.

I am an emotional person. I get truly involved and passionate in everything I do. I really feel when things don't work out for someone, and I share the joy when they do.

I think that there have been many excellent one time contributors to this thread. The regulars really don't have the time to examine all the picks mentioned here. I think that many people are able to make larger profits than I do, but I try to point people in directions that I truly believe are going to appreciate. But Andrew, Patrick, Dorothy, Shawn, Robin, etc. and myself provide some consistancy (and apparently some entertainment) for those reading this thread. And that may be worth something by itself.

I sometimes list my picks before I take a position in them, sometimes after. That is a function of my own personal cash flow, and really shouldn't concern anyone here. I have positions in most, but not all, of the stocks that I list. If I miss one of my picks, there are 10,000 stocks out there---another opportunity will present itself.
I generally pick stocks that have moderate to large floats, so manipulation by us is not an issue. I really don't screen for float, unless it's obviously very small.

Anyhow, this is the 2d time I wrote this, I got bumped & couldn't send, so here goes.

Andrew, I'm underpowered software wise and don't dare change.
