Not sure if you implied this but WinStar and Nextel are not in the same business (fixed wireless local loop vs mobile wireless). Completely different technologies (LMDS vs CDMA) at different frequencies. While there have been problems with CDMA deployment in general (and I don't mean specifically Nextel), it is a technology that works well, maybe just not as well as some had originally hoped. I do know of people that use Nextel and have not been overall pleased. But I use AT&T and I experience the same problems the Nextel users do. (BTY - AT&T uses TDMA). Remember, Nextel offers some value-added features for business users that other provides do not (i.e., two-way radio, etc.)
