Nokia's first ADSL Broadband sold to Telia Sweden = Battle won at Ericssons homeyard.
Dear Sirs, Petters of Sweden: Telia has approved Nokia as a vendor of Broadband ADSL access networks, for advanced services in Sweden
(February 19, 1999) - Telia, Sweden's leading operator has selected Nokia to supply broadband ADSL access solutions - for the supply of fast Internet and datacom services.
Nokia won the contract after successfully completing extensive tests. The solution will include Nokia Eksos B20 DSLAMs, (Digital Subscriber Loop Access Multiplexers) Eksos M10 ADSL customer premises equipment, Nokia service provisioning solutions and support services, as well as the Nokia Network Management System. Delivery of the equipment will begin during March this year.
As part of its ambitious plans, Telia aims to introduce ADSL broadband technologies on a large scale to both residential and small office and home office (SOHO) customers. It is envisaged that the equipment will support services such as remote working and very high-speed Internet over the coming years.
