IMPORTANT CLARIFICATIONS

Some of the recent posts have forced me to seek answers on a number of questions and rumors floating around. These answers are from a conversation I had today with Jon Darmstadter.

Sticky Packages

First let us begin with the sticky packages. Mr. Darmstadter states that throughout the manufacturing process there will always be a few inherent leakers no matter how advanced the production gets. The steps being made to stop the majority of this are the following:

They have changed their printing process from flexographic to rotograuvere. Now do not ask me to explain the differences all I know is that the etch cylinders in the roto process have a .005 tolerance in consistency. They therefore produce better eyemarks for the machine to use which makes the entire process smoother.

They are now using 50% more stringent film and a softer straw.

They are currently using the best film for the process and the film that Volpak recommends for use in their 240DF machinery.

I am sure that questions will arise as to why TCBG didn't begin their production with the best film and that question can be answered simply by stating it was because of price issues. Now with the volume of product that they are doing it makes sense to use the best film. Case closed.

Now what this better film will do for the product is:

-Produce clearer, sharper graphics
-More consistent eyemarks
-Max runability of film
-Improve loss & waste issues
-Better color profile

Boxes

The next issue is open boxes. Changing their box supplier has solved the open box problem. The old supplier was sending some warped boxes that caused the boxes not to seal properly. So the new box supplier should eliminate this issue.

Financials

This is a question that lingers in everyone's mind.

The year-end Dec 31, 1998 financials have been done since January 15 and they will be certified and released by April 1.

Machines

They currently have 6 machines in their possession. 2 of those 6 are currently up and running. 3 more of those 6 will be up and running by April 1 and the last will be running by May 1.

So by April 1 they will have 5 machines up and running and will be delivering product to all Wal Mart stores by mid April.

Only 15% of the population have access to Wal Mart Supercenters and well over 90% of the population have access to a Wal Mart. So once the product is in all the Wal Mart stores its exposure will increase by more than 6 fold.

Straws

One more tidbit that I can add about the straws is that they will be made 2mm longer. My friend had a concern that when he opened the pouch he had to fish for the straw. The longer straw addresses this concern and of course as we all know the straw will be softer also.

Also there is no truth to the rumors of the company buying back shares. Jon D. says that if they have information for shareholders they have no problem releasing it.

I am very confident in the forward progress of this company. I feel now is an excellent time to increase my holdings and I will. I am confident that by year-end I will be greatly rewarded for my patience and my diligence with this company and its stock.

Take care all…
