I think AIT could be a turnaround story. At their annual mtg last week the CFO expected the company to have no earnings this Year 97, but be profitable afterwards. They are in two lines of business :border control and risk management. I expect the border control side to pick up - that is sales of passport readers etc. will come back. They will now sell more through system integrators which is really how customs/immigration officials (the buyers) look at their work/problem -that is - have all travel entries (and exits) at airports and elsewhere online. This is the part of the business that caused problems last year. The travel card and electronically readable passports are coming to all countries eventually and there will be a significant market and money to be made (AIT is the biggest in the field). The risk management side looks positive and their product (rapid eye) was well received and is state of the art technogically. The company has cutback staff and should be profitable next FY - it is realatively cheap ie now selling at one times sales.
