edamo, You are looking backwards at $3 million. That was a huge sum of money in 1976.

I don't have any opinion about Buffett as a person. I dislike the style of investing he champions, buy and hold. The fact it worked for one guy does not make it a good idea. The key to his success was not sticking with his overpriced issues, but in having money from his severance pay at an investment firm and an inheritance to buy at the bottom. And then getting enough cash flow from his private businesses to support his hobby. He picked some good stocks and some losers, but some great private businesses. The tide lifted all boats and he made a lot of money. Good for him, but, IMHO, not a repeatable performance for others, especially not at a bubble top.
