Efficiencies, efficiencies. I am in no way suggesting Apple compete head to head with microsoft. They should concentrate development on the NeXT OS and get it out the door in 6 months not 1 year. Most companies divest themselves of units which could probably function better on their own rather than behave as lumbering behemoths with no goals or ideas what they are doing. Apple needs a big change to survive. Laying off people and declaring restructuring every year is not the way to go. If Apple is so good in high-end machines, why are they constantly being beat to the punch by the clones?? Again another example taht Apple should just get out of hardware all together and let the PowePC cartel improve on pricing and moving towards the CHRP goal by summer. This should have been done years ago.
