A number of excellent points Roscoe32.
The first point is hard to refute and I'm am going to leave that to someone else.
Point #2 about being a commodity busines is much easier to turn into a positve.Telecomunications is a commodity business to a certian extent especially when you consider existing business,but as an investor in Winstar I am considering the future.The best business to own is a strong franchise and what I want to say is that winstar has a franchise on expansion in telecommunications especially where t-1 and DS-3 are concerned.Supposedly WCII can provide this level of capacity without digging up streets and burying cable.From the conference call WCII has a substantial cost advantage over other fiber optic providers.The licenses also strengthen the position of the franchise.If you're the only license owner in Manhattan you're the only license holder inManhattan period.{Of course you have to worry about competing technology but what are the competing technologies??}
WCII also is a strong commodity busines when competing for existing customers .If you can provide better quality at lower price doesn't this lead to a competitive advantage?
Now does anyone out there doubt that telecommunications usage is going to expand in the future?Not I.I firmly believe that video conferencing,data transmission,and internet use will only increase the demand for capicity in the future.This being a given ,at least in my arguement,and on its own makes WCII a compelling investment.
I refuted one of your arguments.If you can please refute anyone of mine
1.Wcii is a value playThe ownership by Wcii of the 38ghz is curently undervalued by the street.
(wcii itself just paid 3/pop)
2.Wcii is focused on one of the most rapidly growing sector's of the economy.
3.Revenues are acellerating.(ramping up if you will)
4.The ownership of the 38ghz licenses gives wcii the competive advantage in providing the capacity demanded now and in the future.
5.They are and will be a low cost provider of telecommunication services.
6.ATT Sprint MCI should look to Wcii to help facilitate thier entrance into the LEC markets.
7.Managemnt is talented upbeat dedicated and invested in this company.
thanks for reading
long on wcii
