Apparently De Beers has no interest in Canada's NWT diamond region. Well, perhaps not for expansion in the immediate future. They seem to have a bit to take care of at the moment, you see. However, I wouldn't be betting on that remaining static.
De Beers (Monopros) current activity in the NWT:
Immediately to the east of Diamet/BHP: Block of claims about one eighth the size of BHP/Diamet's block with nine pipes discovered - Anne, George, Drew, Don, Finlay, King (W and E), and Hardy (L1 and L2).
Immediately west of Diamet/BHP: Block of claims roughly 60% the size of BHP/Diamet's block.
South of Diamet/BHP, immediately south of DHK/SUF/RTZ JV: Block about one eighth the size of BHP/Diamet.
Well southwest of Ekati vicinity of Snare Lake - immediately west of LTL/PUG/ACA et al: Block of claims roughly one seventh the size of Ekati with five pipes discovered, Otter, PCE, Kent, Wolverine (N and S).
Well southwest of Ekati - vicinity of Carp and Wecho Lakes: Block of claims roughly one seventh the size of Ekati with four pipes discovered, Willow, Jean, Rich, Cirque.
Well north northwest of Diamet/BHP, between Lytton/New Indigo blocks: Block about half the size of Ekati claims with two discovered pipes, Rush and Muskox.
Just south of the Arctic Ocean - Coronation Gulf. Block of claims about one sixth the size of Ekati with two discovered pipes, Klerk (1 and 2).
Pretty fair land holdings, eh? I make it a total almost twice the size of Diamet/BHP claims…including the buffer claims. All the above are 100% owned by Monopros. Not included in this summary are JVs between Monopros and other juniors...for instance their majority involvement in the Mountain Province/Camphor blocks, which are as large as the Diamet/BHP blocks on their own.
I make that 22 pipes discovered...just the ones I know about and can name. Anyone out there with detailed information as to size, caustic fusion results, any bulk sampling, mini or otherwise, undertaken on all of these pipes?
Maybe some of those newsletter writers demanding that Winspear spill the beans could provide some detailed information on these pipes. :-)
Cheers,
