Looks like it was Bob Mosley living on the streets of San Diego however Skip Spence was definitely having problems with Schizophrenia.
FYI, Mosley joined the marines 1969 and was thrown out 9 months later.
Their former manager Katz pulled a fast one and ended up with most of the money and rights to their songs and even their name although there's currently a court case about this. You can read more below.
