Intel doesn't seem interested in putting much more that just the processor on a chip. They have a hard enough time making fast, low power processors for notebooks as it is. Remember, they are competing with AMD and Cyrix, not NMGC.
It looks pretty obvious that NMGC has one of the best management teams around. I don't see their notebook market share changing anytime soon and I do see the notebook market continuing to grow at double digit rates.
