I own no stock in Aapl, nor MSFt/intc etc. But I want competition because as a user, I only see the benefits from the healthy competition in the past. If it were not for the Mac, Win 95 wouldn't be here. The reason I suggest some futuristic view also, is because Aaple has been the innovator, and without some of that view in Apple, I doubt they will make it. Amelio's ideas are so focussed on Msft "me-too" but losing the s/w edge that Apple has enjoyed so long. I only point out to his TI notebook stuff to show his lack of understanding of consumer retail market. And that is where Apple is.
I hope I am wrong, and wish Apple luck.
