Of course, it is a low-margin retailer!! And in some ways, Amazon.com is worse off than the Albertson's and the JC Penney's of the world -- because if I am in Safeway or Target, I have to go out of the store, get into the car, drive up to the other place, find a parking place, get out of the car, and get into the other store to compare prices. On the computer, however, all it takes me to go from amazon.com to barnesandnoble.com or to shopping.com is a few effortless keystrokes...
