I totally agree with what you have said in the post. Apple is a
symbol of creation, and innovation. Microsoft is just a fellower, who
watch very carefully about its every step, which create what it has
today. Microsoft should appreciate Apple's early technology that
make Microsoft take it with very minimum efforts.

I am great Apple has taken every step toward the right direction now.
From hardware point of view, IBM and Motorola are lots of stronger
now than 94-96, which they could pay more attention and put more
efforts on its PowerPC advancement, and more or less contribute
more to MAC's marketing. They can head-to-head compete with Intel.
Apple's current situation actually has not much to lose because it
is near the bottom, while Microsoft is at the top with rediculous
high market value. From fundamental viewpoint, Microsoft is no much
room to grow in its market value, but Apple is just opposite.
DEC used to be 199 before stock crash in 87, it then lost workstation
market to Sun and HP, it was once down to 19+ just about 2-3 years
from its pick. I don't intend to say that Microsoft will follow
DEC's pattern, but everything could happen in the future. My
prediction is Apple would gain some market share back due to it's on
the right course to recover, and all its alliance companies, Sun,
IBM, Oracle, Motolora are in very healthy conditions. With their
help plus Apple's fight back its share, it is likely that Apple
will be much healthier than 96. Don't you think so?
