It's a fascinating question in regard to how selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors compare to each other. There are multiple serotonin receptors, and multiple dopamine receptors, in the 5HT receptor group, which are affected by drugs of this class.

It seems obvious that selectivity is important. These drugs are prescribed by psychiatrists, based on subjective impressions of affect and behavior.

Sepracor has only claimed the advantages that ICE-Prozac has a shorter washout period and less sexual dysfunction in males. This is important because anti-depressants are prescribed subjectively.
