I'm not AWOL, I was travelling. Be sure to read the Voodoo3 reviews at your favorite 3D web sites on Monday, February 22nd.
In regards to MTexels v. MPixels...
Megapixel/s is a measure of how many pixels are rendered to the screen in one second. Megatexels is a measure of how many textures are rendered to those pixels per second. The Voodoo3, a chip/system with 2 texture units has a Mtexels/sec number twice that of Mpixels. While MPixel/s is one indicator of fill-rate, pixels require textures for display, and as such, we feel that it is a better descriptor of performance than MPixels/s, as it is an indication of performance for games using multi-texture, a dominant feature many popular games today.
As for the recent postings on the next generation 3Dfx products on AGN, etc. we do not comment on rumours or speculation.
