Altoro Gold ATG.VSE have two diamond rigs drilling at Birch Lake Pt-Pd project in the Duluth Complex in Minnesota. altoro.com 204.220.140.1 Good platinum projects are hard to come by. I like Birch Lake for a number of reasons. It is in a good geologic enviorment widely recognized by industry and academia as being highly prospective. It has been worked on by majors like Impala and Amplats who have confirmed grade and metallurgy. It has 6 drill holes with ore grade intersections. It is wide open on two sides. The ore zone is flat so it is ammenable to cheap room and pillar mining. On the down side it is deep and the grade on the low side. It will need to be a big deposit to pay capital costs of deep underground mine. Altoro now drilling to determine size potential of the system. Results for this program should be avalible before the end of March. Much more drilling will be required to define the zone but if exploration is sucessful in demonstrating size potential Altoro could become a takeover target for major PGE producers. Altoro also have some good gold projects in Brazil.
