Joe, you said, "I found this last week awfully hard to make money on the long side." Pray that longs don't get discouraged. . .because when the buyers quit buying and the days volume drops dramatically, NOBODY makes any money. . .not long or short.

Short-selling can be profitable in a bull market. . .but NOT in a slow moving bear market. That may seem incorrect at first glance, but short-sellers require buyers to get stocks to move. No buyers. . no volume. . and no volume . . . .nothing moves. . .and when nothing moves. . nobody makes money. . to see what I am talking about, read the histories of bear markets.
