I read somewhere that the principle behind networking (the human kind) is that all parties take more than they give, resulting in a whole that is larger than the parts. I think another word for it is synergy. It works when what you give is worth far more to the receiver than what it cost you to produce.

The same principle works for Dell, as their customers earn far more using Dell products than it costs Dell to produce them. Fortunately Dell is also a user of their own products, so they win coming and going.
