Wow Jack, I just poored over 21 msgs since yesterday and I get the distinct impression you are throwing in the towell on Iridium. Your reasoning reminds me of conversations a freind and I had a few years ago re G* vs I*. We both felt G* would succeed due to its simpler less sexy technololgy, lower cost structure, and higher quality. We felt I*'s use of TDMA, complex sat to sat transfers, and high cost would hinder its success. That seems to be what is coming to light. Go ahead and gloat, Maurice. It looks like you have been right on. I guess it doesn't matter that Nieman Marcus is selling Iridium phones (or trying to) or that Dirk Pitt used one to call in the troops from Orion Lake. I guess what really matters is the law of supply and demand driven by pricing. Go ahead and gloat again Maurice. What is the difference between the bricks in the Miniscribe boxes and boxes of Iridium phones? That is not a riddle.
