Sorry, Pete, but there is a difference, IMO, between blind faith and trust.
I grant you that anyone who falls for the "invest in XYZ, it's going to the moon" routine IS just plain stupid. However, if the perpetrator professes to have knowledge they would "love to share, but can't-- so trust me", then this becomes a gray area in my book. They might be honestly trying to help, or they may be scamming you. Anyone who watches 60 minutes knows how con artists prey on the elderly by calling them repetitively, as their "friend", in order to gain their trust. Is it THEIR fault for being suckered?
None of us is immune. Our society is built on trust. When Kevin Hansen gives T/A, a subject I know zilch about, I choose to trust him because I CAN NOT do that research myself. When Andrew says he likes a stock, I know he has done his research-- research which I could RARELY find on my own nor understand if I could find it.
True to what I said earlier, I will not discuss "in pubic" the particulars of any case presented against any person. Stocks, yes. People, no. Therefore, treat the above post in the generic context in which it was intended. In other words, any resemblance to people living or dead is purely coincidental .
