Terry:

Building a road is the most economic way to access the property for an extended project. It takes several weeks to build a 15 km road because in Quebec you can't just go in and bulldoze over the trees (you have to cut all the trees and pile them before bulldozing out the stumps). Flying a drill crew in daily is far more expensive because you probably will end up chartering a helicopter for a minimum 3 hours per day (~ $3,000) if there isn't one stationed nearby. A prudent explorationist would build a road rather than spending $100,000 a month to mount an extended helicopter supported drilling campaign. Furthermore, I will bet that the geologist running the program is just as anxious as you are to see the drill(s) start turning.
