Regarding shorts who want to educate the newbies:"TOP TEN "punchie Friday night grips" about postings on A@P's thread
10. Posters who defocus the Michael Jordan of Shorting by asking questions about "Longs". The equivalent of a bunch of wiggly ballons on the free through line. 9. Questions about the quality of the latest Internet Search Engine company offering, while not realizing if they searched in the SI Search engine, under the "full-text" they would find the posting on the very topic they wanted, when it was asked 8 hours prior. Irony 8. A 16 year old posting with a subject heading consistenting solely of "personal methane-producing activities", while combined with his prior posting lambasting of his 15 year old friend on the topic of HIS lack of experience, and wanting to teach him a lession. 7. Posters who don't realize that free realtime quoting is available from at least 3 different sources, you see a post that says that some stock has dropped below X, you crack it open to see the authors evaluation and commentary, and you find THAT WAS IT, it was just the quote and a awwwwww or yeeahhhh, inside. 6. Reading a board other than SI and finding out interesting information, only to scan SI and see that no one has reposted any independant, then having to do it yourself. 5. Reading a really good ranting flaming post laying it all out on the line (never personal mind you, flaming a company or concept only), and just loving it, then seeing the same poster introspectivily pondering if he was too harsh. We want our coffe with caffine and our flaming posts to be errrr.....Flaming! 4. Going to the thread of the shorted stock to find out that no one besides the "dream team" is countering the longs (often insiders) that are posting pure and unadulterated crap. We are supposed to warn investors from jumping into sinking ships. Weary from the battle the Vertern comes back to the home thread and gets asked to define boxing. (which of course was covered just 3 days before) 3. Posters who can not tolerate a reverse swing at anytime. 2. Posters who ask who frequently ask questions that are covered in the Frequently Asked quesions (FAQ) or suggested reading page www.beartracker.com/selling.asp Its not that experts don't want to help, its just that there is such a better premade answer that is alreay written, and the experts are waiting to be asked the second level question. Experts want usually like to say "Okay good you understand "that", the next thing you have to consider is......" The FAQ and beartracker has the first part documented to the extreme
And the number one annoying poster is Wolff, who should be doing all sorts of things as far as figureing out ones own personal direction, but decides to spend the better part of a Friday night posting to the thread, procrastinating his stuff, while the vast majority of investors are relaxing and spending some quality time doing something else. ;-)
Well this top ten was supposed to be funny, and should not offend anyone, actually if it does offend anyone that would be funny, but that is just my sense of humor. Seriously guys this place is great, we are all having fun, the quality of individuals here is very high across the board.
Let's all row this "big Viking Ship" together, everyone with an paddle in the water, we all can help. Don't forget to make the donations we were talking about just yesterday. ed
