clearly, csco, like ibm and other great companies, will continue to provide their products regardless of what happens with asnd and the voice/ip/atm market. the real question is which company will succeed that the analysts have not discovered yet. this will provide the largest upside gain from an investment standpoint. from this perspective, i think that asnd is now riding the coattails of lu and may not have the greatest (ie 50%) return they have produced for me over the past 3 years. i am starting to look into the wireless arena and other communication providers such as qcom, and broadcom. asnd and csco will make good core holdings for a long time but really who is going to be the next big thing???
