Yes Joe you finally got it.
Had BHP wanted to build a smaller mine they could have. A company makes corporate decisions, how big a mine, how long for the mine life etc et al. They could have built a bigger mine they could have built a smaller mine. Just like a house. Descisions get made.
Thats why some mines hAVE 50 EMPLOYEES, OTHERS HAVE 500 AND SOME HAVE 5000. Someone in corporate headquarters decides. Do you honestly believe mines only come in one size. Do you think someone walks into Beaver lumber and says I want to buy a mine and the clerk replies Ok that will be a half billion they only make them in one size.
Joe read the northern miner or a book on mining or something.
You honestly believe that because BHp spent a half billion at Ekati that all diamond mines cost a half billion??????
And if you think high grade mines need $2000 ORE TO OPERate you are also crazy, you never did explain where you pulled that number from. And yes Joe and there some very small Mom and Pop mines mining speciality ores that do extremely well. Just buy a copy of rock and gem mag and learn a little about specialty sample mines. There are snad and gravel mines that do quite nicely and they sure dont cost no 1/2 billion and their ore is worth a few bucks a truck load but they still make money.
Live and learn Joe but most of all learn.....
regards Walt
