A friend of mine encouraged me to look at MacDonald Mines, so I thought I would read all the thread so I could catch up. Noticed the many posts concerning the Helms Burton law. There was an informative program on this about a month ago on CBC (I think). They interviewed the US State Dept. and it admitted that there are 1500 US companies doing business with Cuba worth about half a billion dollars. The biggest company doing business there is VISA and then the telephone co. It is not illegal for companies that do business in Cuba to go to Cuba, or for people who have relatives there, only for ordinary Americans. I think this law alone would not stop Americans from investing. Just my 2 cents worth.
