Hi Carl.

When Cyrix got the 6x86 out, and a couple of months later, AMD got its K5 out, 6x86 was already selling its 6x86 better than the K5. From a technological point of view, Cyrix has completely the advantage. From a reliability point of view, AMD is my choice. First of all, AMD has a fab of its own, Cyrix has zip (Cyrix needs help from IBM Microelectonics and SGS Thomson for their fabs). And AMD is known to emulate the Intel code better than Cyrix.

So far, I know that the M2 will be faster and the K6 will be more Intel compatible.

As for investment, I will by stocks from both of the companies and cross my fingers and hope they both are going to do well.

Kevin
