i totally agree that the stock price represents the perceptions very accurately over time. not minute to minute, but it does.

for example, someone can sell a thinly traded stock that they think will double b/c of a margin call on another stock. that stock can topple 10% even though the perception hasn't changed one iota.

btw, you didn't answer my nikkei question.
