Myron, After you install BrowseMaster on a Win 95 machine, you should have the BrowseMaster.exe in your Startup directory (usually c:\windows\start menu\programs\startup, and the .exe plus 2 .dll files (perl.dll and cw3230mt.dll) in the c:\Program Files\BrowseMaster directory. Note that this will not be on drive c: if the Homedrive= Windows environment variable is set to a different drive. If these files were installed in their correct locations and the BrowseMaster DOS box does not appear, perhaps the App Paths registry key did not get set up properly. It's in your registry at SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\App Paths\\BrowseMaster.exe, and it needs to point to the directory where the 2 .dll files are.
Let me know if any of this makes any sense to you. I can go into appropriate detail if necessary. Let me know which, if any, of these things didn't happen after the BMaster113.exe setup program was run, and then hopefully we can get you started.
Regards, Craig
P.S. Another thing to try, if you know DOS, is to go to the BrowseMaster directory while at the DOS prompt, and run the BrowseMaster executable from there. At this point you should be able to verify if the BrowseMaster executable is working properly, at least. |
