As long as the $ is strong. These imports like oil, copper, steel, etc... are not cheap in their local currencies. They are cheap in US $. If we were importing raw materials from a strong currency country such as Japan, or Europe, it would not be cheap. But Asian countries are desperate for cash. So they sell cheap. That is why imports from Canada and Mexico are very cheap. Their currencies have dropped relative to US $.
