I think the headline is probably true. I also think the phenomenon is limited to a very small percentage of the gay population.

Neither is it exclusively a gay phenomenon. Every night in Bangkok and Pattaya reasonably aware, educated, white men line up to screw local hookers in a country with one of the highest HIV rates in the world. Many are unprotected? Russian Roulette? Denial?

Very hard to say. Tragic, any way you slice it. But it shouldn't be used as ammunition against the gay community. There are self-destructive individuals on all sides of all sexual fences.
