Nightly Business Report guest on Friday was some professional who shorted stocks. I did not record his name. Anyway, his view was that the recent upsurge in tech. business and stock prices was a temporary phenomenon, and that the tech business would return soon to negative growth. He said that the corporate purchasers reported their plans for buying in the second half of 1999 was very limited. He said he would stay away from the "Dells, Intel's, Compaq's, and Hewlett Packard's of the world." Then he went on to say he would stay away from equipment stocks too.

The Friday guest on NBR has been known to move a few stocks with his or her commentary. I doubt a guest could have an effect on a whole sector though . . . .

Anyone know what report he was referring to about corporate purchase plans, and whether he is making a fair inference about future business from that report?
