Also, does Brad and/or GNET know about this? Wouldn't it be a borderline copyright violation or something? Just wondering if they have seen it and what their respose is?
I e-mailed the Dryer brothers at the beginning of the month, and told them about BrowseMaster. I've also sent them each a PM about BrowseMaster. Unfortunately I haven't heard back from them.
Here's a copy of the e-mail I originally sent to Jeff and Brad. I still think it is in SI's best interests to co-operate with me in some fashion, but currently I have no idea as to what they're thinking.
Hi Jeff and Brad, My name is Craig Richards. I have been a member of Silicon Investor since September, 96. I think you've done an excellent job in creating Silicon Investor. You have developed an easy to use and intuitive user interface, and Silicon Investor is a great product. However, I think it can be even better. In fact, I am currently working on a software product called BrowseMaster that will improve the SI UI. There are many features I am thinking of adding, but the first 2 I have started with are the ability to ignore individual users as well as the ability to download multiple posts at a time. I have a list of many other possible improvements that I think would be very useful for users of SI. I have done some limited testing of BrowseMaster, and the initial response has been very enthusiastic. I believe my product will improve the SI experience for many users.
Silicon Investor can benefit in many ways from the BrowseMaster product. First of all, if SI is easier to use, more people will access it, and the people who already use it will spend more time on it. Greater user satisfaction should increase your number of posts as well as the number of page hits. Also, since BrowseMaster's UI enhancements will be done without any effort on your part, you will effectively have the BrowseMaster programming group working as your development staff for free. This will allow both of you to spend more time on other areas of your business.
I am writing to you to find out if you are interested in co-operating with my company as I develop the BrowseMaster product. I see a number of possibilities on how we can work together for our mutual benefit. There are many benefits both to SI and to BrowseMaster.com, and by working together we can strengthen both companies. I hope you agree that it is worthwhile to discuss this in further detail.
I am looking forward to hearing from you with your thoughts on this matter.
Sincerely, Craig Richards BrowseMaster.com |
