You may be right but those assumption are history now. Are you aware that India, China and Korea are building similar products? The know how gap is narrowing fast. India is a new Mecca of software development. Not to mention other countries such as Russia and Israel in telecom related products. The nature of the telecom industry is similar to automotive industry THEY DO HAVE STANDARDS to comply with. The issue is only who makes it cheaper and more reliable. - similar to a car.
