I just loooove sitting and admiring my precious missives--imagining the inspiration they will provide all of my my my readers. . . . .Then POP! Irrefutable evidence of God appears in the form of a needle, sending my balloon of vanity into a squealing spiral. Kind of like when you're at a cocktail party, thinking you're being so clever and entertaining because people are gathered round laughing at every line you utter, then excusing yourself to the restroom to relieve and preen--smiling broadly, proudly at the mirror, and then, only THEN realizing you've had a big 'ol hunk of spinach lodged between your front teeth for God knows how long.
