LUV 12-month price target of $35.

Article on airline stocks in Sunday NY Times Business section (p.8) in the form of an interview with analyst Kevin Murphy of Morgan Stanely Dean Witter.

Here are the quotes relevant to Southwest Airlines (LUV):

"Southwest Airlines should have no trouble posting record earnings this year. Business couldn't be better for them."

"I think Southwest will get plenty of business in New York..."

"Q: Airline stocks have been battered. Are there some that you like?

A: We like Southwest Airlines a lot, and have a 12-month target price of $35. It is the only airline we look at as comparable to an S.&P. 500 stock."

End of quotes. LUV closed up 1/2 to $30 on Friday. My guess is that it'll be at $35 in six months or less.
