I recently was at a training get together for my company. There was a very interesting talk about investor relations. The talk focussed on marketing our stock to various mutual funds and pension funds. I knew that there was much more to good investor relations than answering shareholder questions, but the talk opened my eyes even wider. Good investor relations is targeted marketing.

I also listened in to a few other CC's this earnings season. It is very obvious that some stocks (3dfx) have very junior analysts assigned to them with weak and uninformed questions being asked. I listened in on BTGC's CC. What a huge difference in the quality of the questions. They were product and customer specific, and they also showed a very good understanding of BTGC's competition.

I think I'll add the quality of the CC's as another factor to consider when choosing an investment.
