New Agreement Extends Successful Worldwide Marketing Relationship

PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 19, 1999-- Brio Technology (Nasdaq:BRYO - news), the enterprise business intelligence company, today announced that IBM (NYSE: IBM - news) will resell the Brio Enterprise product suite worldwide as part of DecisionEdge for Sales Analysis, SAP. With this agreement, IBM sales representatives can now better serve the needs of their customers by reselling Brio Enterprise for query, reporting and analysis as part of IBM's end-to-end business intelligence solution for sales analysis.

IBM will resell the Brio products under the terms of the Brio Technology logo and license agreement. This agreement expands the two companies' marketing relationship where IBM has been reselling Brio Enterprise as part of its Visual Warehouse family of decision support products. It also reflects IBM's confidence in Brio's business intelligence products and services, as demonstrated by IBM Corporate's selection of Brio Enterprise as an approved business intelligence tool for use within IBM.

To help companies access, analyze and share vital sales information, IBM is bundling Brio Enterprise with DecisionEdge for Sales Analysis, SAP, which includes hardware, software, consulting and services. DecisionEdge is an IBM solution for corporations seeking to better leverage the sales information captured in their SAP R/3 systems.
