Curtis, spinning off palm and modem divisons won't work these days. Just look at all the stand alone modem companies are folding and even intel is losing market share to coms. For Palm, the main problem now is how to connect that to your coroporate database securely. That's a whole wireless networking system, not just a company selling handheld gadgets. Same thing for cable modems, whoever can provide a good end-to-end solutions gets the contracts. As intel tries to cut down the functionality of nic and let its powerful cpu does the work, coms is putting arm processor onto the nics. This area of deveopment is very exciting to me and is going to really give intel the scare. Mang
