Maybe the Netscape acquisition is the slam dunk you make it to be, and I hope it is, but at least some analysts think this is a very complex transaction:

Analysts say AOL faces at least three major hurdles as it tries to make the Netscape acquisition work -- keeping key people, learning the software business and finding a way to turn an organization chart that threatens to look like a Rube Goldberg contraption into a well-functioning machine. The Netscape acquisition is more complex than most, analysts said, because AOL inked a three-year agreement with Sun Microsystems Inc. to market Netscape's electronic-commerce software to corporate customers.

This is from a fairly long story that appeared in the Washington Post shortly after the acquisition was announced. Although a lot has been sorted out since then, I'm sure that even Andressen and Case are still trying to figure out who does what to whom, not to mention how Sun will fit in.
