An unfilled gap is when a stock opens up or down significantly above its closing price the previous day. This kind of gap is filled more than 90% of the time according to technical analysts and has nothing to do with company fundamentals. It is just how stocks behave when there are many buyers and many sellers. In some sense, like many other technical analysis tools, it is a self-fulfilling prophecy. But this does not make it any less valuable as a tool to anticipate price movements in a stock and to understand why a stock is moving for no particular reason.

I agree that CHLR is poised for a run up but I think its going to pull back this coming week to fill the gap. I could be wrong.
