There have always been homosexuals, in every society and at every point in history. In that sense it could be argued that homosexuality is a normal feature of society. Does public acknowledgement of its existence constitute promotion?

Isn't denial a form of indoctrination in its own right?

I wonder how you feel about some of the other forms of indoctrination that have taken place in schools. Many anti-PC activists complain that portrayal of women in positions of leadership as anti-housewife indoctrination. Very few complained of the decades of texts showing women as simpering, helpless, creatures unable to function without hanging on the superior intelligence of a man. When I was taught American history in school, the course content was blatant propoganda; from reading our texts you would come away thinking that no American leader had ever been anything less than faultless, and that the every American policy was perfect in concept and execution. The justification was that this was needed to promote patriotism. This is surely indoctrination; do you also find it offensive?
