To Peter: OK marketing is more important than technology. Microsoft is an example, as well as the AT&T "One Rate" plan. But the question still in my mind is whether the Vodaphone/Qualcomm tests which were in depth re the feasibility of a CDMA One overlay to GSM apply even indirectly to TDMA in the US. Is a CDMA One overlay technologically and economically feasible re TDMA? Could AT&T install CDMA One over the existing TDMA infrastructure as a practical technological and economic step if it wished to do so? Or is AT&T waiting to upgrade TDMA to the next 3 gen CDMA (whatever flavor seems better on a path from TDMA - converged or not)? Or is AT&T looking to 3rd gen TDMA - whatever standard emerges? Comments anyone?
